personalCOUNSELLING

People seek counselling or psychotherapy for many different reasons. These are just some of the issues we have helped our clients explore and resolve:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Self-esteem and confidence issues
  • Issues with personal relationships
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Addictions
  • Sex & sexuality issues (including gay, lesbian and bisexual issues)
  • Sexual abuse issues
  • Concerns around work and career
  • Health & well-being issues
  • Coping with transition
  • Eating disorders
  • Deliberate self-harm
  • Depression

Many of us can benefit from having a space to talk to someone. We believe that psychological services should be widely available and we are dedicated to providing affordable psychotherapy to residents in London.

Our qualified therapists provide a confidential, safe place where clients can talk openly.  At the first appointment clients are welcomed into private, comfortable therapy rooms to discuss their concerns and personal hopes from counselling. This initial consultation with us will provide an opportunity to discuss therapy and will allow space to explore any concerns about the counselling or psychotherapy process. These first appointments generally last about an hour.

We feel our clients are 'experts' on themselves and we respect our client's personal goals in therapy, using a combination of counselling approaches to achieve these goals. Whether the issue is anxiety, depression, relationship problems or bullying at work, we seek to understand the problem from the client's point of view and faciltate change or resolution. For more information about our approach to counselling and psychotherapy, please continue here.

At all times we operate a policy of non-discrimination on grounds of age, race, gender, sexuality, religion, illness or ethnicity. And we do not judge behaviour, personal choices or past experiences.

Everyone's counselling needs are different. Some people benefit from just a few sessions while others continue for longer. Clients may end therapy at any time, simply by letting us know.

Grief Counselling / Bereavement Therapy London:

Everyone experiences and expresses grief in their own way, often shaped by how their own culture honours the grieving process. It is not uncommon for a person to withdraw from their friends and family and feel helpless; some might feel anger and others may experience a position of denial. One can expect a wide range of emotions and behaviour. In all places and cultures, the grieving person benefits from the support of others. Where adequate support is lacking, counselling may provide an avenue for a more healthy grief resolution. Similarly, where the process of grieving is interrupted, grief can remain unresolved and later resurface problematically. Grief counselling or bereavement therapy involves helping people move through grief to health and resolution. Sometimes grief reactions are severe, usually brought on by the loss of a close person (by separation or death) or by unresolved issues with the deceased. The goal of grief counselling is to identify and solve the psychological and emotional problems which surface as a consequence. Problems may appear as behavioural or physical changes, psychosomatic disturbances, delayed or extreme mourning, conflictual problems or sudden and unexpected mourning. Grief / bereavement counselling can be useful in individual or group therapy formats.
